Study
Homologous Electrical Difference Analysis
By Z-Tech
We
are one of the centers in a multi-center trial evaluating
a new innovative technology for diagnosis of breast
disease. As the principle investigator in the trial,
Dr. DuPree is responsible for entering patients into
the trial.
This
study is based upon the knowledge that breast cancer
has decreased impedance from normal tissue. The trial
involves the placement of electrodes onto the breast
and the passing of in imperceptible amount of energy
through the breast. The results of each breast are
compared to one another. The results are than compared
to the mammogram and then to the results of the biopsy.
The arm of the trial that we are participating in
requires that all women who participate have a biopsy
of the breast to verify the findings of the mammogram
or clinical exam. There are other centers that are
participating in the screening arm only.
There is no cost to participate and there is no financial compensation for
your time. Being part of a trial that can potentially eliminate the need for
mammograms as a screening tool seems to be all the compensation women need
to participate.
If
you are wondering if you are a candidate for the
trial just ask at your visit.

The Study of Tamoxifen and Raloxifene
This
trial is closed to new patients. The results of this
trial will disclose whether Raloxifene has the potential
to prevent breast cancer as Tamoxifen has shown.
Dr DuPree is the principle investigator of this trial
at St. Mary Medical Center.
